From Surket to Nepalgunj - Doctors for Nepal back on the radar...
We’re back. Back to Nepalgunj. Into a different world, where light exists after sunset and food is varied; small luxuries which remind us that those with whom we were sharing a roof less than 30 minutes ago are now still left in that extreme, and that we are now far away. Our luxuries are now alien to all those who have been our neighbours over the last 10 days.
It has taken us 30 minutes to fly back from Jumla to Nepalgunj, back from a town it took us over 10 days to reach. 6500 Nepalese Rupies, per person to get from Jumla to Nepalgunj. £65 per person. 1 persons daily wage is 80 pence per day. Time and money put things back into tremendous perspective.
